PropTalk is an independent property investment intelligence site built specifically for Brisbane investors. We research the suburbs, run the numbers and explain what they mean for people who are thinking seriously about investing in Brisbane property.

What we do

Every week PropTalk publishes research on Brisbane's property market: suburb data, finance analysis, market updates and investment strategy guides. We cover the questions that first-time Brisbane investors are actually asking: which suburbs are growing, what a property genuinely costs to hold each week, how the tax system works, what the budget changes mean for your investment, and whether now is the right time to buy.

The research is written to be useful to someone making a real decision, not someone who wants to be sold a product. We do not write content to please developers, promote specific projects or generate transaction volume. We write it to help Brisbane investors understand the market clearly so they can make confident decisions with their own adviser.

How we approach research

Every price, yield and growth figure we publish is sourced from published market data and named. When we run calculations we show the working. When a figure is an estimate we say so. When the numbers do not support a positive investment case we say that too.

Brisbane property content online is dominated by optimistic projections and developer-funded suburb guides. We try to be the counterbalance to that. If a suburb's yield does not stack up, we will tell you. If a strategy only works under specific conditions, we explain those conditions clearly. The goal is for a reader to finish a PropTalk article with a clearer understanding of reality, not a more confident feeling that is not grounded in data.

What we are not

PropTalk is not a licensed financial adviser and nothing published on this site should be treated as personal financial advice. We are a research and intelligence resource. The articles, calculators and suburb data are a starting point for your own research and a foundation for conversations with your licensed financial adviser, mortgage broker and accountant.

We are also not a transaction platform. We do not list properties for sale, take commissions from sales or benefit from any particular property being purchased. Our only interest is in the quality and accuracy of the research we publish.

Who reads PropTalk

Most PropTalk readers are first-time or second-time Brisbane property investors. They are researching seriously, typically considering a purchase between $750,000 and $1.3 million, and they want to understand the market themselves before they speak to a broker or buyers agent. Some are rentvesting. Some are looking for their first investment property while they continue renting in the inner suburbs.
